The Department of Applied Japanese

The Department of Applied Japanese (DAJ) was established under College of Culture and Creativity of Kaohsiung Campus in August, 2009. The aim of establishment is bringing up superior talents who can apply Japanese universally. DAJ places importance on optimized education, practical exercise and reinforcement of competitiveness, DAJ has targeted same level as Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 for graduation, and established systems of getting credit without attending Instruction, double major and semi- major, small class for language training and etc, and is also continuing to strengthen internship system in Japan , studying abroad as exchange student, guidance and assistance after school, extracurricular lesson and etc.         

There are ten full-time teacher in DAJ in all, five Japanese teachersone teacher is from Koreafour teachers are Taiwanese who have experience of studying abroad to Japan. All of them have long teaching career on Japanese education, and have more than bilingual ability. Eight teachers of them have a doctor’s degree.

 

Aims

The aim of DAJ lies in consolidating standard Japanese linguistic ability and international communication ability, and bringing up the professional talents who can apply to practical affairs. The educational objectives are as following   

1. Bringing up the talents who have Japanese linguistic ability.

2. Bringing up the talents who have the special knowledge on the society, culture and business of Japan.

3. Bringing up the talents who have the international views, professional morals and basic intelligence.

 

Six Core Competencies

  • Having the abilities that understand and express correctly by Japanese.

  • Having the basic translating abilities.

  • Having the special knowledge and the applying abilities on the business of Japan.

  • Having the abilities that understand and adapt to the society and culture of Japan.

  • Having the human basic knowledge, professional morals and the internationalizing ability to arrange information.

  • Having the cooperative spirit, and be able to fulfill responsibility and observe the rules of workshop.

1. JLPT N1 level Graduation qualification. 

2. The system of finding a job in Japan.

3. Internship system in Japan ( from two to six months ).

4. Studying abroad to take a class for credit in Japan as exchange student.

5. Curriculum multiple and unique systems and three fields of elective subject

(Language education field, culture and society field, Industry and economic field).
